More Offensive Specialist Journeymen, Please!

(h/t: wizznutzz)

In a move that will make some people say "we are now among the deepest of prolific offensive teams", we've cleansed ourselves of another Walker/Sund-Era bust to acquire Chatkins from our bitter divisional rival/cancerous PG secondhand source, Denver. Hey, we're done carrying your ass frenchie, and no, Axe body spray is not a shower substitute. Presti's Plan is the new Pickens Plan, except less packaged for eco-extremists. If you forgot, get familiar (via USA Today):
The result, he hopes, will be improvement on the defensive end and steady progress toward embracing the team identity he has conjured up in his mind. If a player fits into that mold, Presti has the resources to pounce.

"We're looking for guys that will play both ends of the floor, but you can't have a team that's made up of only defensive players. There needs to be balance to everything you do," Presti said. "We want guys that will compete. We want players that are going to fit the plan that we're looking to execute."
34 yr. old Chatkins, with less explosiveness and more hernia, gives us that "balance". In addition, this move positions us for late-round cracks at 2 more NBA-ready, fan favorite Devon Harkins's. I mean... wait.

More good news though is that we now have more of this:

and much less of this:

One more step on the short road to relevancy! 3 potential 1st round picks to make our Thunder a team we can truly call our own!

I am excited, because even an extra 10% chance of gaining another once-in-a-life-time talent like Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook and THUNDER LOVER Kevin Durant would establish our OKC Thunder basketball team as an up-and-coming force in basketball!

Sacramento 2000-2003, here we come!

HA HA I love the picture comparisons.
I didn't know "chucky" was still in the league!

so denver's going to be drafting towards the end of the 1st and okc's drafting with the 31st pick, so they essentially took on salary to move up around 5 spots in the draft....

brilliant.

I think that's the only way they can get anybody to play there.

Yeah, the Boomers traded the 31st pick with no guaranteed contract required for the 25th or so pick with a guaranteed contract.

The Okies are eating it up, because "THREE FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS" sounds so pimp.

Wasn't Luke Ridnour a first round draft pick? Also Petro and Swifty? I'm just saying!

hey another former Grizzly to join Earl Watson.

Personally I think Watson is a league above Atkins. But Atkins saved our butts for at least during Lowry's rookie season and Stoudamire's career ending injuries.

Atkins is probably not as good as DJ Strawberry or Darius Washington though who I am sure are available.

Man, this is some bullshiiiiit.

Do you think if Chucky Atkins and Anthony Carter traded places anyone would notice?

I always thought they were the same person.

They are about the same!

It's really funny how you refer to yourself as "we". like you're somehow part of the Thunder community. You're irrelevent in the Thunder family, virtually no one knows that you exist and the ones that do, don't pay any attention to you.

Apparently you're irrelevent in Seattle as well, based on the number of people who leave comments. Most people there have accepted reality and moved on. There are just a few bitter haters left.

Just enough to be completely irrelevent.

Easy, jerkstore. This blog is the highlight of my life. Actually, I'll take that back, since Oklahomans seem to have no ability to appreciate facetiousness. But it is BY FAR the best Thunder blog on the web. Are you seriously going to disparage BiLB based on the number of comments it gets? ThunderWorld gets about 8 comments per day; 7 of which are posted by a guy who rants incessantly about Seattle's gay tendencies. You should be so lucky as to have a writer as talented as ClayMate. As it is, all the real Thunder blogs just post links to the Oklahoman and summarize the nightly box score.

Speaking of the Oklahoman, I saw this hilarious piece of satire posted there. Since this is a satirical website, you guys will love this...

"Breaking News: Clay Bennett and a group of Oklahoma city investors known as the "PNC LLC" has purchased the Seattle P-I and has given the city of Seattle one year to step up and support them or they're moving to Oklahome City. Bennett had the following remarks..." We feel very fortunate to have an opportunity to own a paper in this beautiful city for many years to come but we can't continue to lose money forever." ...Bennett also added..."We have long wanted a little sister paper for the Oklahoman, that we could use as a "farm team" paper to develop talent for future moves to our major league player in the news business, The Oklahoman." Developing....

Aren't we supposed to believe that Bennett would be a "man possessed" when it comes to keeping the P-I in Seattle, though?

No more shirt and ripped jeans OKC comments disparaging The Great Leader. Watch the news lately?!!?!?

OKC is a jeans and blazers (sans socks) major league town now. Try and show some class when making comments on The Great Leaders blog.

Danananananana LEADER... LEADER...BATMAN...I mean LEADER

Hey, what's with all that arabic stuff?

What do you expect. MMONTANA? There's a picture of a terrorist (who looks nothing like Chucky Atkins) on the front page of this website!!!

Check this out...

NO BOND BETWEEN KD AND JAY-Z
Oklahoma City doesn’t have to worry about rap mogul and New Jersey part owner Jay-Z having his eyes set on Kevin Durant as a backup plan in case the Nets fail to land LeBron James in free agency in 2010. Durant said Monday that he doesn’t have a relationship with Jay-Z, who was not in attendance Monday night.
"I don’t know him at all,” Durant said. "I met him twice, but I don’t know him that well. I love his music. I’m a big fan, but I just never got around to it I guess. I’ve never been a guy who’s been like, ‘I need to meet Jay-Z. I got to meet him.’

"I want to stay in Oklahoma as long as possible. I do, that’s the honest truth. I love it there.”

you're right jerkstore, i would say moussaoui looks more like anthony carter. and KD immediately strikes me as a kanye fan, mostly because of his desperate propensity to seek acceptance from his base. he did it last year in seattle and now says the same in okc. he also called bennett a fat f*ck for moving the team. diagnosis: daddy issues.

i believe the exact quote was "I hate that fat mother fucker"

KD still bolts as soon as he can.
