Very very very funny take on probably the worst logo in all of sports. Almost as funny as the joke the NBA is springing on the country by telling us OKC really is a major league city. LOL LOL LOL
well, we sold all our season tickets and now have a waiting list. the only other teams with a waiting list in the NBA, Lakers, Celtics, and Suns. I'd say that is pretty major league.
but with that said, the logo IS horrible.
Any team could sell out an have a waiting list when they are "stolen" from one town and moved to a town that has not had an NBA franchise EVER...
That's not really saying much...
The Lakers, Celtics, and Suns are story franchises, with HUGE fan bases that have maintained fan stability for decades.
Your team is BRAND NEW, and fresh off all the DRAMA with being "stolen" by crooks. Of course the first year will be that way. Let's see how you do in 5 -10 years or so...
Comparing the "OKC Joke" to legends like the Lakers, Suns, and Celtics is a complete disgrace to those teams.
By the way, I want one of these shirts too...
Out of all fairness, the "sooners" are thieves as the name is given to people who hid on plots of land and waited for the land run to start so they were already there "sooner" then anyone else, also the capital of Oklahoma was Guthrie before the seal was stolen and placed in Oklahoma City. So Oklahoma doesn't necessarily look down on thieves, especially since it was originally where they moved all the Native Americans from the east to after they stole their land. With that said, Bennett always had intentions of moving the team to OKC. I'm not sure who the owner was of the SuperSonics but he should have known that when he sold it to him, or Seattle should have put up the money for the stadium. In the end, Stein wanted a team in OKC ever since he saw them sell out Hornets games for two years and what the commish wants the commish gets.
I will say that I agree with what the person above me said as far as the old owner of the Sonics (by they way it was Howard Schultz, owner and founder of Starbucks),
I'm from Seattle, and many of us do think clay is a complete moron. However, many of us also place a heavy blame on Howard for selling the team. Many fans are boycotting Starbucks because of it.
He is not looked upon very well in Seattle right now.
